Krejcir case postponed

Radovan Krejcir and six others appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court in Johannesburg for conspiring to commit murder on Monday, April 7.

The case was postponed to Tuesday, April 22, for further investigations.

“There are still one or two more people we believe have been involved. Given the fact that we are at an advanced stage of our investigations, we believe that more arrests will be made soon,” said Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale.

Mr Makgale confirmed that a seventh person linked to Krejcir’s criminal investigation was arrested.

“The accused, Welcome Nkanyiso Mafunda, was arrested on Wednesday, March 26, following investigations by the team of detectives tasked with the Krejcir investigation,” said Lt Gen Makgale.

The first four suspects, Siboniso Mia, Zodumo Simphiwe Biyela, Jacob Nare and Owen Serero, were arrested at a lodge in Sandton on January 9.

The four were arrested after Krejcir and Sergeant Nandi Nkosi were arrested. @BedfordJourno
