Rowdy officers infuriate home owner

They never behaved professionally and for the next four hours, continued making a racket. I know the management of the metro police do not care, so I did not bother complaining, knowing that nothing will be done about it.

EDITOR – I live at the intersection of Edenvale and St Johns roads.

On the Sunday morning of the Edenvale marathon, March 2, we were woken at 5am by rude and noisy metro officers, who were banging car doors, playing music, shouting at each other, generally having no regard for the peace and respect for the community.

They never behaved professionally and for the next four hours, continued making a racket.

I know the management of the metro police do not care, so I did not bother complaining, knowing that nothing will be done about it.

The trigger for this compliant is your article on this same topic in the March 19 edition of the newspaper.

In comparison, Edenvale hosted the Pick ‘n Pay marathon a few weeks back.

Those marshals were extremely professional, as quiet as possible and respectful to the traffic and the community.

Those marshals are welcome back any time.

ANNOYED RESIDENT,

EDENVALE.

Letter received on March 24.
