According to the Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, an on-duty traffic officer stopped a vehicle after the female driver failed to obey traffic rules.

“When the officer requested the woman’s drivers license, the woman expressed her frustration with traffic officers, asking why they were not chasing real criminals. The officer responded that she was only carrying out her duties of law enforcement,” said Sgt Nhlabathi.

The woman allegedly screamed at the officer and verbally abused her. After numerous attempts to calm the driver, the officer arrested the woman for interfering with the duties of a police official.

The driver is due to appear in court.

  2. Couldn’t agree more! All too many people are being arrested for interfering with police affairs. This category is too broad and being abused by those who are there to serve.
