Poster busters ready for 2014

Despite this, problems are still being experienced with signs for painters and other small businesses which are put up on a daily basis.

Residents may have noticed an improvement in the removal of illegal advertising in Edenvale.

According to the founder of Edenvale’s Poster Busters, Mrs Sharon Lendrum-Frittelli, this can be attributed to new management within various departments, including outdoor advertising.

“Our ward councillor, Clr Heather Hart, has done an excellent job of constantly reporting offenders during the last few months and hopefully we will win this battle,” said Mrs Lendrum- Frittelli.

Despite this, problems are still being experienced with signs for painters and other small businesses which are put up on a daily basis.

“This scourge is not going to go away any time soon without the council upholding the bylaws. These posters are bound to increase with elections,” said Mrs Lendrum-Frittelli.

The Edenvale Poster Busters meet on the second Saturday of each month, except February, when they will meet on the third Saturday, February 15.

The group meets next to the entrance gate at Horwood’s Farm at 2pm to collect pinafores and plan proposed routes.

The clean-up lasts roughly two hours.

Those attending are asked to bring along tullen or side-cutters.
