Two hijackings in three days

The gate to the property was opened for him and he entered the premises.

Two car hijackings took place within the Bedfordview area, just three days apart.

The first veichle hijacking took place on January 5 in Regent Road, Bedford Gardens.

According to the Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabati, “The vicitim had parked his car in Regent Road when three suspects grabbed him and pulled him out of his car.

“The suspects took some of the victim’s possessions, including a firearm, his wallet and driver’s license before fleeing in the victim’s car.”

The second incident occurred on Wednesday, January 8, on Van Der Linde Road in Bedfordview.

According to Sergeant Nhlabati, the victim was in Van Der Linde road to visit his sister-in-law.

The gate to the property was opened for him and he entered the premises.

On checking his rear-view mirror, he noticed an armed suspect approaching his vehicle.

The suspect pointed the firearm at the victim and ordered him to get out of the vehicle and lie down. The suspect fled in the man’s vehicle.

The identity of the suspect is unknown and the police are investigating.
