Howzat, LMS teams hit big

As the first half of the summer season for the Bedfordview Last Man Stands (LMS) wrapped up last weekend, teams went all-out to secure their position on the log for 2014.

The Green Mambas took on the JDK Invaders at Jeppe Quondam in a division 1 match on Saturday, December 7.

The JDK Invaders batted first to set up a score of 142 for the loss of seven wickets after 20 overs.

In reply, the Green Mambas only managed to reach 125 for the loss of five wickets in their 20 over innings.

JDK Invaders then took on Gangnam Style in the next match of the day at Jeppe Quondam.

Batting first, JDK Invaders set up a score of 138 all out after 19.1 overs.

Players from Gangnam Style hit the ground running in their batting innings, winning by six wickets in just 16.1 overs.

In their third, division 1 game of the weekend, JDK Invaders took on Got_Cha at Jeppe Quondam on Sunday, December 8.

Got_Cha batted first and set up a score of 115 all out after 18.2 overs.

In reply, the JDK Invaders reached a score of 116 for the loss of seven wickets in 17 overs.

In division 2 games over the weekend, Bedfordview Rebels took on the 69ers at Elandspark School on December 7.

The Rebels batted first and set up a score of 151 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.

In their 20 over batting innings, the 69ers only managed to reach a score of 119 for the loss of three wickets to hand the Rebels the win.

The Rebels then went on to win their second game of the day at Elandspark School against RB Boys by 77 runs.

On Sunday, December 8, the Tool Saders took on the Deadbeats at Jeppe Quondam.

Tool Saders batted first and scored 95 runs in 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets.

In reply, the Deadbeats only managed to reach 93 all out in 19 overs.

Turning their game around, the Deadbeats recorded a five wicket win over the Bedfordview Rebels.

The Rebels batted first to put up a score of 111 for the loss of two wickets in 20 overs.

The Deadbeats reached 115 in just 14 overs for the loss of only three wickets.

Seven 5 and Old School were the last of the division 2 sides to play on Sunday at Jeppe Quondam.

Seven 5 batted first and scored 57 runs all out after 12 overs.

In reply, Old School reached 58 runs in 8.4 overs for the loss of four wickets to secure a four wicket win.

In division 3, the Young Lions took on DP Boys at Elandspark School on Saturday, December 7.

The Young Lions batted first and set up a target of 126 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.

In reply, the DP Boys were only able to score 78 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 over batting innings.

Playing at Jeppe Quondam on Saturday, the Wicket Wanabe’s took on the Jeti Kings.

The Jeti Kings batted first to set a score of 159 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.

In their batting innings, the Wicket Wanabe’s scored 111 for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs to give the Jeti Kings a 48 run victory.

In their second game of the day, the Wicket Wanabe’s took on the Cricket Tanks, also at Jeppe Quondam.

This time batting first, the Wicket Wanabe’s set up a score of 137 for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs.

The Crickets Tanks narrowly beat their rivals when they reached 138 for the loss of three wickets in their 20 over batting innings to win by five wickets.

In Division 3 on Sunday, December 8, the Young Lions played against the Cricket Tanks and won by six wickets.

The Cricket Tanks batted first and score 103 runs all out in 18.3 overs.

The Young Lions secured the win when they reached 107 for the loss of two wickets in 18.4 overs.

On Sunday, the Rubber Duckz took on Wicket Wanabe’s at Elandspark School.

The Rubber Duckz batted first to set up a score of 66 all out in 16 overs.

They were then able to bowl out the Wicket Wanabe’s for 29 runs in just 15.2 overs.

In the last division 3 game for this half of the season, the DP Boys took on the Toxic Bunnies at Elandspark School.

The DP Boys batted first and scored 144 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.

In their 20 over batting innings, the Toxic Bunnies were only able to reach 108 runs for the loss of five wickets.
