Swimmers perform well at gala

The Mandeville Dolphins swimmers made great contributions as part of Team CGA (Central Gauteng Athletics) at the Highveld Inter-Provincial gala.

The event was recently held at the Delville Swimming Pool in Germiston.

Daniel Sanchez won a silver medal in the 100 metre backstroke and struck gold in the 100 metre freestyle.

Tatum Peyerl continued adding to her collection of accolades with a silver medal in the 100 metre breaststroke and a bronze medal in the 200 metre individual medley.

Christopher Ryan won a bronze medal in the 100 metre butterfly and went on to add gold in the 100 breaststroke with a powerful swim.

Peter Buckle won a silver medal in the 50 metre freestyle and Marizel van Jaarsveld added silver to her collection for the 100 metre freestyle.

Ethan Roque medalled in two events. He won a silver medal for the 100 metre butterfly and a bronze medal for the 100 metre freestyle.

Lize-Mari de Beer continued her winning form with gold in the 200 metre individual medley and 100 metre freestyle and silver in the 100 metre butterfly.

Mandeville Dolphins swimmers featured strongly in the relay.

Peter Buckle helped his 200 metre medley relay team win gold as did Marizel van Jaarsveld, Divan Bester, Ethan Roque and Kristy Kupfer in their respective teams.

Lize-Mari de Beer and Tatum Peyerl helped their 200 metre medley relay team win silver and Matthew Alexander and Jason Barry swam their team to a bronze
