Thornhill fete to bring family fun in October

The village will hold several raffles, and musician Rudi van Niekerk will provide live entertainment.

The excitement was evident as Rand Aid’s Thornhill Manor retirement village prepared for its upcoming annual family fun day and fete.

The fete will be held on October 14 from 09:00 to 13:00 at Thornhill Manor, West Lake Drive, Modderfontein.

A wide selection of food and refreshments, including baked goods, pickles, preserves, boerewors rolls, egg and bacon rolls, German foods, pancakes, curry and rice, and deli items, will be available, as well as a tea garden.

Besides food bargains, hunters will be able to browse the various stalls, which will include honey and bee products, sewn and knitted items, books, CDs, DVDs, recycled cards, Christmas tags and crowns, home crafts, art, jewellery, calendars, decoupage, handbags, leather items, mosaic and Disney collectables.

There will also be a white elephant stall.

All funds raised will go to the retirement village fund for a project the residents will decide on and benefit from.
