Greek Independence Day to be held at Saheti
The community is urged to attend the celebrations on March 19.
The Hellenic Federation of South Africa invites the community to join them on March 19 when they celebrate the Greek Independence Day, which takes place on March 25.

They have celebrated this annual event since the end of the Greek revolution in 1921.
The day commemorates Greece’s fight for freedom after being occupied by the Ottoman Empire for over 400 years.
This day also coincides with the religious Feast of the Annunciation.
They will celebrate the day an important religious holiday in Greece.
This year, the Hellenic Federation of South Africa will host a commemorative event at Saheti School.

They will celebrate the day in true Greek spirit with lots of food, music, dancing, stalls and a funfair.
