City of Ekurhuleni achieves another clean audit

The City of Ekurhuleni received its third consecutive clean audit.

“It means that the financial statements do not contain material errors. It is a financially unqualified audit opinion, and there are no material findings on performance information and compliance with legislation,” said city manager Dr Imogen Mashazi.

In 2017 the city resolved that one of the administration’s cornerstones was running a clean, accountable and effective government.

Operation Clean Audit was introduced to monitor the implementation of the Auditor-General’s previous recommendations and establishing adequate systems for dealing with audit queries.
