Residents are invited to a carwash fundraiser on February 3 between 07:00 to 18:00 at Bulldog Carwash Express.

The event will be hosted by the NPO, Better Bedfordview. They hope the fundraiser will help them continue cleaning up and restoring Bedfordview’s roads, parks, pavements and public places.

Special prices will be offered on the day, and the proceeds will go to the organisation.

“Since our launch in June 2022, Better Bedfordview has painted speed bumps and kerbs, planted pavement gardens, repaired paving and fences, cleaned, swept, cut grass, trimmed trees, weeded and tidied.

“We have made huge improvements all over, including on Van Buuren Road and at the intersection of Van Buuren, Riley and Townsend roads.

“There is a project underway to uplift the area around Bedfordview Town Hall,” explained the chairperson of the organisation, Marina Constas.

She appeals to residents to support the initiative because they depend on funding and support from them and local businesses.

“We share their vision of a clean, green, better Bedfordview, and of improving our neighbourhoods and, ultimately, South Africa, one suburb at a time.”

The carwash is on 97 Boeing Road East, Bedfordview.
