Local surgeon set to compete for Miss International in Japan

I entered Miss International as I align with their values and went onto winning the competition.

Dr Ferini Dayal, a surgeon at Bertha Gxowa Hospital, will be flying the South African flag in Japan on December 3.

Dayal will represent South Africa in the 60th edition of Miss International after winning the Miss International South Africa event.

Dr Ferini Dayal, a surgeon at Bertha Gxowa Hospital, won the Miss International South Africa. She will now represent SA in Japan on December 3 in the 60th edition of Miss International.

She has special interest in plastic surgery.

Dayal is a two-time graduate from the University of Witwatersrand.

“I qualified at the age of 24 with both degrees, the first being a biomedical sciences degree majoring in physiology and followed by my bachelor of medicine and surgery,” said Dayal.

“I am the youngest female surgeon to ever become an ambassador for the Smile Foundation and I have also started a foundation that helps with various health advocation projects around South Africa,” said Dayal.

She always had an interest in pageantry and won her first pageant at age 14.

She later dedicated her time to studies and once qualified, she entered Miss International and won.

“I will be the first surgeon from South Africa to compete in Miss International,” said Dayal.
