The Grade Five learner said her love for horses and gymnastics is what attracted her to the sport.

“I have the best of both worlds. What I love most is that I can be with horses whilst shooting my arrows and doing gymnastics on them.

“Mounted archery is a very skilful sport and you need to be focused and accurate. I have found my inner strength in mounted archery,” she said.

Victoria-Anne was selected to represent the Gauteng team for mounted archery at the SANESA nationals and MAASA grading in October and successfully tripled her previous scores in both tower and raid to two and three.

In 2019 she represented the country in Mauritius, which led to her winning all her categories and getting the highest score across all age groups.

“I was invited to represent South Africa in Chilliwack, Canada, in May of 2020 but unfortunately Covid-19 hit the world and I could not go.

“I want to fulfil that dream of going to Chilliwack to compete. For mounted archery, I would like to follow in my coaches’ footsteps and represent my country in France sometime soon,” she explained.
