Edenvale High dancer moves to succes

She learnt the Indian classical art form of Bharata Natyam for eight years and was later introduced to the vibrancy of Bollywood.

Edenvale High congratulated Utara Sununan for her achievements in professional dancing.

Utara, a Grade 11 learner at Edenvale High School, started dancing at the age of four.

She learnt the Indian classical art form of Bharata Natyam for eight years and was later introduced to the vibrancy of Bollywood, belly dance and fire dancing.

Utara currently performs for Oriental Fire Dance company under the guidance and tutelage of Tina Kapp and Jitesh Ranchod.

In June she performed on Trendz SABC 3 as part of its Youth Day segment, as well as on the set of the popular South African series 7de Laan.

Most recently Utara performed in a community show at the Lyric Theatre on August 27 where different dance companies around Gauteng showcased their art.
