Two bodies found in one day in Ekurhuleni

The scene where the body of a woman was found had blood leading from the river and not far from where her body was found.

Two bodies were found at Welamlambo Section and Vusimusi informal settlement in Thembisa on August 2.

Captain Neldah Sekgobela, Ekurhuleni SAPS district communications officer, said the one body is that of a woman and the other a man.

“Police received a call from a community member informing them about the discovery at Welamlambo Section,” said Sekgobela.

“When police arrived at the scene, they found the body of the woman lying opposite the community member’s house wearing a T-shirt. She did not have any underwear on.”

Sekgobela said there was blood on the scene, leading from the river not far from the body.

“The motive is unknown. According to one of the residents, the woman is from Emnambithi in KwaZulu-Natal,” added Sekgobela.

“The body of the man was found after police were notified and they proceeded to Vusimusi informal settlement. The body was found next to a recycling area on Nakuru Street.”

The deceased, referred to as ‘Thapelo’, had stab wounds to his body.

The man is estimated to be between the ages of 25 and 30 and his family is unknown.
