Community helps Tree of Hope grow

Holy Rosary School (HRS) learner Angelica Korras handed over R10 000 worth of donations to Tree of Hope on Mandela Day.

Community members and businesses came together to make donations to Edenvale’s Tree of Hope.

Tree of Hope gives abandoned babies a second chance by providing parents with an alternative option if they cannot afford to keep their child.

Holy Rosary School (HRS) learner Angelica Korras handed over R10 000 worth of donations to Tree of Hope on Mandela Day.

The donation was made possible with the assistance of Elegance Modelling Academy, Bxtrme Cycles, Build It Edenvale, Build It Bedfordview, MDA Builders and products supplied by Powertrade.

Thirty packets of nappies, 15 boxes filled with various Squish products, 37 cans of baby formula and various toiletries were donated on July 18.

Angelica is currently the Elegance Modelling Academy’s reigning model of the year and HRS’ debutante queen.

She decided to assist Tree of Hope as she saw it as an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many mothers, babies and families by creating awareness of the project.

The organisation seeks to assist mothers and teach them how to be self-sustainable by creating skilled work programmes.
