Herman Road is repaired, following excavations
As a result of the large-scale excavations motorists and heavy duty vehicles cannot make use of the slipway and traffic builds up at the intersection.
The City of Ekurhuleni has confirmed that fibre contractors will be held accountable for damages at the intersection of Herman Street and Koornhoff Road.

In the June 22 edition the Bedfordview and Edenvale NEWS reported that for more than two weeks a large section of road dug up at the intersection of Herman Street and Koornhoff Road had been left unrepaired.
The affected area is the slip road from Herman Street into Koornhoff Road.
As a result of the excavations, motorists and heavy-duty vehicles cannot make use of the slipway and traffic builds up at the intersection.
On June 21 the NEWS received confirmation that repairs to the road were underway at the site.
The spokesperson for the City of Ekurhuleni, Zweli Dlamini, said a report for a major water leak was received on June 9.

“The city assessed the situation on the same day and repaired the leak on June 10,” he said.
He also confirmed that the water pipe was damaged by a contractor who drilled underneath Koornhoff Road.
“The water and sanitation department filled the excavations made for the repair of the damaged water pipe. The fibre contractor will be held accountable for the reinstatement of the road layers and surface,” Dlamini said.
