Following the release of his new music, the NEWS caught up with Eljoenai to learn what inspired him and what he has done since the publication last spoke to him in 2020.

Since the NEWS last spoke to Eljoenai he said he has bettered himself as an artist, as a man and worked on several musical projects.

However, like many artists, Eljoenai had to survive the pandemic, which he said was a stressful period for him.

“There is a lot to say about all the things I went through during the pandemic but I used the time to record a couple of beautiful songs.

“I managed to direct the stress into peaceful tunes to showcase courage and gratitude.”

In mid-April King El started releasing three singles namely Now That I am Lit, Not Alone, and Why.

Edenvale resident and rapper Eljoenai Cica (AKA King El Joena) recently released multiple tracks in his pursuit of becoming better known as an artist while at the same time advocating peace.

Speaking about his tracks Eljoenai said Now That I am Lit, which also has its music video, drew inspiration from Psalms 22:26 AMP. The song is for those who are going through loneliness.

“I created Not Alone because I wanted to let people know that they are not alone but loved and appreciated,” said Eljoenai.

“The world can feel big and sometimes you feel so alone and helpless that you can’t even speak to anyone.

“Only know that you are not alone. God’s love keeps us strong,” said Eljoenai.

Explaining the background of his most recent release, Why, Eljoenai said this song was inspired by the conflict in Ukraine and all the hatred he saw in the world.

“World peace is a must. We all deserve freedom and we shouldn’t take anybody’s life for the sake of a better future,” said Eljoenai.

Edenvale resident and rapper Eljoenai Cica (AKA King El Joena) recently released multiple tracks in his pursuit of becoming better known as an artist while at the same time advocating peace.

“We need to stop the wars in the world and unite with one purpose, which is bettering each other’s lives and not breaking each other down.

“I feel like war is not solving anything right now.

“I saw dead bodies lying in the streets on TV. I watch lives go cold and mothers in agony with no consolation.

“Seeing this I took my pen and decided to stand on the side of peace.”

Describing his latest releases, Eljoenai said his content has not changed a lot.

“When people listen to my most recent release and all the words spoken in the other songs they will understand where I’m going with my vision.”

He said fans who enjoy rap and trap music and those who desire a peaceful world will enjoy the track Why.

“Those who love rhymes and storytelling will most likely be entertained.”

Although Eljoenai released several tracks he said he does not plan on releasing an EP or an album at this stage.

“I decided to release singles to build to something big.

“Things are working and I am learning more on the marketing and business side of the music.”

Since the release of his songs, Eljoenai said the feedback has been good.

“Currently, Now That I’m Lit – KING EL is the official music video is doing big numbers on YouTube. There are more than 1 500 people who have viewed the song and it is currently playing to more than one million people on TV. The song is really good.”

Eljoenai said with the easing of Covid restrictions he looks forward to having more people coming to shows, gigs and concerts.
