Fund-raising market to be held by the Edenvale Senior Citizens Society

Funds raised from the market are used to cover some of ESCS’s costs, which include providing meals for the seniors of Edenvale.

Edenvale Senior Citizens Society (ESCS) invited community members to attend its morning market on April 30.
ESCS committee member Linda Ranwell said the market, which is held twice a year, is hosted to raise much-needed funds for the society.

Community members can look forward to a white elephant sale as well as the sale of clothes, books, art, ornaments, cakes, food and cool drinks.

The market will start at 08:00 and end at 13:00 and will be hosted at Edenvale Community Centre.

Linda said funds raised from the market are used to cover some of ESCS’s costs, which include providing meals for the seniors of Edenvale.

Based at the Edenvale Community Centre, ESCS encourages elderly community members to be more social and interact with one another by becoming members of society.

They host a variety of daily activities, including yoga and playing cards. Alternatively, community members can have their hair done, eat lunch or exercise at the gym.

Phone 011 453 7608 or visit the society’s Facebook page for more information. Annual membership is R150.
