Record results for Saheti’s Class of 2021

Full-house distinction passes (in eight, nine and 10 subjects) were achieved by 14 learners, which equated to 18% of the matric group.

Under challenging times, Saheti School’s Class of 2021 achieved 340 distinctions or 4.5 distinctions per candidate, in the IEB Senior Certificate Examinations.

Full-house distinction passes (in eight, nine and 10 subjects) were achieved by 14 learners, which equated to 18% of the matric group.

Of the 76 matriculants, 34% achieved seven or more distinctions and 99% achieved a bachelor’s degree pass.

No less than eight learners were named as outstanding or commendable achievers by the IEB.

“The Class of 2021 not only produced our best results to date but also displayed resilience and character qualities engendered by our school motto of know thyself.

“We are thrilled by their achievements and encouraged that they will continue to leave their mark in all their future endeavours. I thank the teachers who gave of themselves tirelessly in guiding them,” said executive principal Warwick Taylor.

Ariane Angelopulo is Saheti’s top candidate, achieving the highest average of 95.5% and a full house of nine distinctions in Afrikaans, English, French, history, life orientation, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics. She has been named an Outstanding Achiever by the IEB, ranking within the top 5% of candidates nationally in six or more subjects. She was also ranked within the top 1% nationally in Afrikaans, English, French, history, life orientation and physical sciences.

Cassandra Barbis achieved the second-highest average of 94.5% and a full house of nine distinctions in Afrikaans, English, information technology, life orientation, life science, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics. She has been named an Outstanding Achiever by the IEB, ranking within the top 5% of candidates nationally in six or more subjects. She was also ranked within the top 1% nationally in Afrikaans, English, information technology, life orientation and physical sciences.

Andonia Papavarnava achieved an average of 93.3% and a full house of 10 distinctions in accounting, Afrikaans, English, life orientation, life science, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences, advanced programme English and advanced programme mathematics. She has been named an Outstanding Achiever by the IEB, ranking within the top 5% of candidates nationally in six or more subjects. She was also ranked within the top 1% nationally in accounting, Afrikaans, English, life orientation, life science and physical sciences.

Savvas Hajiphilippou achieved an average of 92.3% and a full house of nine distinctions in accounting, Afrikaans, English, information technology, life orientation, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics. He has been named an Outstanding Achiever by the IEB, ranking within the top 5% of candidates nationally in six or more subjects. He was also ranked within the top 1% nationally in accounting, English, mathematics and physical sciences.

Dimitrios Dalakas achieved an average of 90.1% and a full house of nine distinctions in accounting, Afrikaans, English, information technology, life orientation, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics. He has been named a Commendable Achiever by the IEB, ranking within the top 5% of candidates nationally in five or more subjects. He was also ranked within the top 1% nationally in information technology.

Aleksa Kruger achieved an average of 89.1% and a full house of nine distinctions in Afrikaans, English, geography, history, life orientation, life science, mathematical literacy, modern Greek and advanced programme English. She has been named an Outstanding Achiever by the IEB, ranking within the top 5% of candidates nationally in six or more subjects. She was also ranked within the top 1% nationally in Afrikaans, English, life orientation.

Pavlos Chronias achieved an average of 89.1% and a full house of nine distinctions in accounting, Afrikaans, English, information technology, life orientation, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics. He has been named a Commendable Achiever by the IEB, ranking within the top 5% of candidates nationally in five or more subjects.

Anastasia Stathoulis achieved nine distinctions in Afrikaans, business studies, English, history, life orientation, life science, modern Greek, visual arts and advanced programme English. She has been named a Commendable Achiever by the IEB, ranking within the top 5% of candidates nationally in five or more subjects. She was also ranked in the top 1% nationally in business studies and English.

Myron Stavrides achieved an average of 89.5% and a full house of nine distinctions in accounting, Afrikaans, English, information technology, life orientation, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics.

Matheo Panayiotou achieved an average of 88.4% and a full house of nine distinctions in Afrikaans, English, history, information technology, life orientation, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics. He was ranked within the top 1% nationally in mathematics.

Jade Harrison achieved an average of 88.3% and a full house of 10 distinctions in Afrikaans, English, life orientation, life sciences, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences, visual arts, advanced programme English and advanced programme mathematics. She was ranked within the top 1% nationally in English and life orientation.

Panayioti Constantopoulos achieved an average of 87.8% and a full house of eight distinctions in accounting, Afrikaans, English, information technology, life orientation, mathematics, modern Greek and physical sciences.
Christakis Christofi achieved an average of 87.3 and a full house of eight distinctions in Afrikaans, English, geography, life orientation, life science, mathematics, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics.

He was ranked within the top 1% of IEB candidates nationally in life orientation.

Alexia Baladakis achieved an average of 86.1% and a full house of eight distinctions in Afrikaans, English, life orientation, life science, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences and advanced programme English. She was ranked within the top 1% of IEB candidates nationally in English.

Tamzin Jansen achieved an average of 84% and a full house of eight distinctions in Afrikaans, English, information technology, life orientation, life science, mathematics, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics.

Constantinos Bourtsouklis achieved eight distinctions in accounting, Afrikaans, English, life orientation, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences and visual arts.

Kimon Christelis achieved eight distinctions in accounting, Afrikaans, English, information technology, life orientation, mathematics, modern Greek and physical sciences.

Stylianos Dalakas achieved eight distinctions in accounting, Afrikaans, English, information technology, mathematics, modern Greek, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics.
