Hart appeals to community for assistance

Information on worksites in Ward 18 can be emailed to Heather.Hart@ekurhuleni.gov.za

In an effort to hold those working on municipal infrastructure accountable, Ward 18 Clr Heather Hart appealed to community members to be the eyes and ears of Edenvale.

Hart encouraged residents and business owners who may see contractors working on infrastructure to take down as much information as possible.

“If you see contractors digging a pavement, try to find out who it is and inform your ward councillor of the location, time and date the contractors were working on the site,” said Hart.

She said by providing the necessary information to councillors, they can determine if wayleaves were issued to the contractors and whether they are allowed to work at the site.

She said if no wayleaves were issued by the City of Ekurhuleni, the contractor could be fined.
