Scouts reach new heights as Cubs make a difference
The cubs aged between seven and 11 collected enough food to feed 840 people.
Cubs from the Northrand District embarked on the “Cup of Love” initiative to feed less fortunate members of the community.
The district commissioner of the Northrand District, Andrew Campbell, said the cubs aged between seven and 11 collected enough food to feed 840 people.
He said cubs from the First St Benedict’s Pack went a step further and used their entrepreneurial skills to sell firelighters to raise money for worthy causes.

“The little guys raised R8 000 for the Germiston and Bedfordview SPCA, another R8 000 for the Edenvale SPCA and R5 340 for Recycle for Rescue,” said Andrew.
The scouts, aged between 11 and 18, are also active once again.
On September 4, the Scouts held an annual pioneering competition.
First Edenvale Scout Troop won the junior competition and the First Hellenic Scout Troop (based in Saheti) won the senior competition.
The First Hellenic Scout Troop won after they constructed a five-metre tall tower.
