On arrival at the Klopperpark address, the suspect was found.

A search was conducted in his presence and one rifle and a magazine with 29 live rounds, a 9mm Glock pistol and one magazine with eight live ammunitions were found.

Additionally, officers also found one construction orange rotating light and R2 400 in cash.

The 31-year-old suspect was arrested and detained at Bedfordview SAPS.

He was charged with being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as possession of suspected stolen property.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the rifle belonged to a security company based in Roodepoort and was taken during a business robbery in November last year in Kempton Park, while the 9mm Glock belonged to a security company based in Moreleta Park, Pretoria, and was taken from the owner during a robbery in February in Boksburg North.

Ekurhuleni district commissioner, Maj-Gen Anna Sithole commended the members for their swift response that led to the success.
