Jeppe Girls celebrate top awards

This is the ninth time the school has received this accolade in the last 10 years.

Jeppe High School for Girls was recognised as the top-performing public school in Johannesburg East at the district awards held on March 16. This is the ninth time the school has received this accolade in the last 10 years.

Jeppe Girls also received the director’s special award for obtaining a 100 per cent pass rate for 27 consecutive years. Learners from the school’s Class of 2020 were also named as the top learners in the district for six subjects.

They were Tamsin Fourie for consumer studies, Monique Tigere for design, Israa Desraj for life orientation and English, Jadyn Hovelmeier for music and Iraj Khan for visual art.

“The school is delighted to receive this accolade and once again congratulate the Class of 2020 who embraced the difficulties of the pandemic and have made themselves, their families and the school very proud,” said Miss Gonçalves, headmistress for Jeppe High School for Girls.
