Edenvale High School congratulated Shanay de Klerk for being selected for the Eastside Mavericks Franchise u-18 team for the Johannesburg Hockey League (JHL).
JHL was launched on July 3 and aims to produce the best school players in Gauteng for universities and clubs to use as a recruitment pathway.

Top quality players were drafted by franchises to play against the very best in a tournament to be hosted this month. There are six franchises in the league with top quality players and coaches drafted from Southerns, Northerns, Easterns, North West and Mpumalanga.

The franchises include Eastside Mavericks, Central Samurais, Mzanzi Hawks, Northside Griffins, Jozi Warriors and Sporting Supermen.
