Bedfordview business robberies on the rise

The Bedfordview SAPS has warned that there has been an increase in business robberies. Spokesperson for the station Capt Andre de Jager said hot spots include Meadowdale, Meadowbrook and Elandsfontein.
“Most of the businesses are targeted at around 5am. Computers, monitors and televisions are the most taken items,” he said.
De Jager urged businesses in the Bedfordview SAPS precinct to alert security officers of the dangers of opening property gates before normal working hours.

“Do not open the gates for anyone who is not scheduled to be there, especially at strange hours. Guards should also not engage with people stopping outside the business, out of working hours,” he said.
He urged business to ensure their guards remain alert for suspicious persons and activity.
