Reports of fatal crash yet to be confirmed by authorities

“As this is an active SAPS investigation, Emer-G-Med will not be able to disclose any details of the event that took place.”

Reports of two people killed in a single-vehicle crash last night in Eastleigh remain unconfirmed.
According to social media posts, the collision occurred near the Terrace and Andries Pretorius roads intersection. Reports are that a third person later died in hospital.

When the NEWS followed up with Emer-G-Med after the service sent out a social media post that two people had died from injuries, the service declined to provide further details.
“As this is an active SAPS investigation, Emer-G-Med will not be able to disclose any details of the event that took place,” said Ernie McCarthy, Emer-G-Med emergency operations centre manager.

City of Ekurhuleni’s DEMS spokesperson, William Ntladi, said he had no information about the incident and was still looking into the matter.
Edenvale SAPS spokesperson Sgt Jacob Mashile said he too had no information about the incident, while EMPD acting chief superintendent and spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said he would investigate the matter.
