Whether they are frontline workers, community volunteers or upstanding members of the public, everyone is a hero in their own way.
Marketing manager for Meadowdale Mall, Itumeleng Malope, said heroes are everywhere in the community.
“You can nominate a community organisation, a car guard, a neighbour or a friend,” she said.

Those wanting to nominate their local heroes are encouraged to visit the Meadowdale Mall Facebook page to submit their nomination.
The initiative will run until December.
All nominations are gathered together at the end of each month and a winner is drawn.
Both the nominated hero and the person who nominated them will receive a R250 voucher.
