With the announcement that schools would be closed for an additional four weeks, parents of Dunvegan Primary School learners gave teachers and staff a standing ovation.
Held on July 24, the last day of school before the break, parents and learners clapped for staff and gave them bouquets.

The closing of government schools was announced by Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga in the hopes of reducing the spread of Covid-19.
Parent of a Dunvegan learner Vicki Camacho said the idea was organised by parents to say thank you to the work and effort put in by the teachers.
