Man caught stealing Transnet cables

At the time of his arrest, the man was also found in possession of an additional two-meter cable.

One person was arrested for the theft and damage of electrical cables in Denver.

The arrest took place on January 30 following information received by the Cleveland SAPS.

According to Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Captain Johan Jordaan Transnet security personnel found the suspect after responding to the tip-off from the SAPS.

At the time of his arrest, the man was also found in possession of an additional two-meter cable.

“He was detained on a charge of tampering with essential infrastructure and possession of stolen property,” said Jordaan.

The man appeared in the Jeppe Magistrates Court earlier today.
