Two caught for bribery

"The vehicle was stopped and officers requested permission to search the vehicle."

Yeoville SAPS arrested two suspects for bribery on October 24.

Yeoville SAPS spokesperson Capt Sifiso Mabizela said the arrests were made after officers noticed a motorist driving recklessly.

“The vehicle was stopped and officers requested permission to search the vehicle. They found dagga.

“When officers tried to interview the two occupants of the car, they offered the officers R500 and resisted arrest. They appeared in court in Hillbrow,” said Mabizela.

Station commander Col Happy Xaba said he was pleased with the arrests.

“This is an excellent arrest, especially since Yeoville SAPS has been tainted with accusations of corruption. Members of the public should come forward when they have information on officers involved in corruption,” said Xaba.
