Jeppe police nabbed one suspect in Bertrams

The suspect appeared in court on April 1 and the case has been postponed for bail application.

The Jeppe SAPS arrested one suspect at a house in Bertrams on March 29 at around 12.30pm for possession of narcotics and police-issued ammunition.

The 25-year-old suspect was found in possession of 111g of dagga, 17g Mandrax (12 tablets), a total of 11 rounds 9mm ammunition, of which eight were police issue rounds, four hand radios that were tuned to monitor police frequencies, two pairs of handcuffs and cash.

The spokesperson of the station, Capt Richard Munyayi, said the arrest was made after police received information from the intelligence unit.

“We monitored his movements to find out where he lives, where he keeps his goods and how he sells them and to whom.”

The suspect appeared in court on April 1 and the case has been postponed for bail application.
