Assumption Convent High School wins Inter-Catholic Cross Country in Roodepoort

JOBURG -– Assumption Convent shines in sports.

 

Assumption Convent recently participated in the fourth annual Catholic Schools Cross-Country Competition hosted by La Salle College in Roodepoort.

Five primary school athletes and nine high school athletes from Assumption Convent participated.According to the school’s marketing manager, Marinella Sousa, seven primary school and high schools participated in the competition.

Sousa said primary school athletes ran 2km and the high school athletes ran 4km.

“After a short break to add up the points, medals were awarded to the first boy and girl of each grade. Courtney Westley who is in Grade 9 won her event in a close finish that resulted in a sprint to the line against another girl,” said Sousa.

Assumption Convent Girls High School won the competition.

Trophies were awarded to the following schools:

  • Primary school boys: St Theresa’s Convent school
  • Primary school girls: St Theresa’s School
  • High school boys: De La Salle School
  • High school girls: Assumption Convent School.
