All cleaned up at Mangolongolo informal settlement thanks to non-profit organisation

JOBURG – Mangolongolo informal settlement has been cleaned up by Lethabo La Africa and residents.

 

Lethabo La Africa, a non-profit organisation recently held a clean-up project at Mangolongolo informal settlement.

Most people know Mangolongolo as a dirty settlement with regular fires and according to the non-profit organisation, the conditions these people live in are not normal.

Community members of Malvern and Mangolongolo, as well as members of the City of Johannesburg, ward councillor Lindani Zulu and Pikitup contributed to the clean-up.

The organisation said they are extremely grateful for the contributions.

The vice chairperson of the organisation, Sibusiso Pholwane, who contributed to the project, said members of the community have been disappointed for too long and it is time for an organisation such as Lethabo La Africa to come through and assist where they can.

Lethabo La Africa aims to combat issues that disadvantaged communities across South Africa encounter on a day-to-day basis.
