Sizwe Duma sentenced to 13 years for an armed robbery in Malvern

The Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court sentenced Sizwe Duma (25) to 13 years imprisonment for armed robbery.

According to the spokesperson for Cleveland Police Station, Captain Johan Jordaan, Duma and three other suspects attacked the complainant on 24 March last year. “They tried taking his cellphone. The complainant shot Duma in his arm and leg. The other suspect was shot in the body and died on the scene,” said Jordaan.

Duma (25) was arrested and taken to a local hospital.

“Through good investigative work by Detective Warrant Officer Fraans Gildenhuys and many court appearances in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court, the suspect was sentenced to 13 years’ imprisonment on 14 February,” said Jordaan.
