Whirlwind victory for Tornado FC

The game ended with a 3-1 victory for Tornado FC.

Former Cameroon national team and Mamelodi Sundowns player, Rogger Fetumba, led the Tornado Football Club to victory against VUT from Vall during the ABC Motsepe League match.

The game was played at the Kensington Senior Secondary School soccer grounds on Saturday, January 16.

The game ended with a 3-1 victory for Tornado FC.

Some spectators said the score was not a reflection of the game as both teams were attacking until the end.

Fetumba said that is how a soccer game should be.

“In football you do not have to relax because anything can happen. Even if you are leading, you need to stay focused and keep attacking. You cannot say you have the game until the last whistle,” he said.

He said his team followed his instructions on the day.

“I told them to go and enjoy themselves. Football is about enjoyment and respect. Respect your opponent and what you are doing. Try to play according to the tactics,” he said.

Rogger said the game was not easy.

“It was an interesting game but my boys were able to capitalize on the chances they created. As a coach it is good to see your team do what you told it to do,” he said.

With this win, Tornado FC is in fifth spot with 29 points in the league.

During his time as a soccer player, Rogger Fetumba also plied his trade in Belgium before retiring.

He said coaching a Kensington-based team, Tornado FC, was his way of giving back.

“I am trying to help the aspiring footballers achieve what I achieved and more in the sport,” he said.
