Germiston City News reported that the Fidelity Services Group CEO Wahl Bartmann has expressed his concern about the latest attempted cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery.

The incident took place on the N3 south highway in Germiston on Thursday and resulted in a Fidelity officer being shot.
He is in a critical condition in hospital.
In a statement, Bartmann said that the Fidelity vehicle was ambushed by approximately 10 heavily armed suspects driving a white BMW 3 series and a white VW Golf 7.
The crew came under heavy fire and were forced to stop the vehicle.
On exiting the vehicle the driver was shot.
The suspects managed to make off with two firearms, but were unable to access any cash from the van.
“Our driver was airlifted by helicopter to hospital and remains in a critical condition,” Bartmann said.
“We are working very closely with the SAPS to follow any leads.
“It appears the BMW had false licence plates.”
The suspects fled in the direction of Spruitview.
“We appeal to anyone who has any information to come forward,” said Bartmann.
