Newly elected BCPF to continue focus on safety and security

Gavin Henry has been re-elected as the chairperson of the Bedfordview Community Policing Forum (BCPF) on May 6.

Henry said the elections were uncontested and went off without a hitch.

He said the meeting was well attended with about 50 people present.

“Our plans are to continue to grow the relationships with all security providers, including SAPS and EMPD and the various security companies.

“We are continuing the roll-out of the Smart Camera Network to enhance the safety and security of the suburb,” said Henry.

Gavin said the BCPF has a number of fund-raising events coming up, such as Bedfordview CPF Golf day on May 23, Christmas in July, Ladies High Tea and the Bedfordview Car and Bike Show on spring day, with more details to follow.

He added that a community walk is also planned for before the end of the year.

Others elected on the day were Alkis Flemetakis as re-elected deputy chairperson, Leon de Bruyn as secretary, Gavin Fischer as deputy secretary, Ian Clarke as treasurer, Mark Morris as patrol commander, Alison Grobelaar as pro and Sector Three head patroller is Vasco Spassov.
