Australian authorities refuse to release name of Sydney suspect

Australian media reported that the man was from Edenvale.

Australian authorities refused to release the name of the South African man arrested and charged in Sydney for attempting to smuggle almost 70kg of cocaine.
$34-million (AUD) worth of cocaine was discovered on April 8 hidden in a crate, containing wooden furniture, which arrived in Sydney from South Africa.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported on April 24 that the man was allegedly a resident from Edenvale and identified the individual.
The Australian Border Force (ABF) declined the NEWS’ request to confirm if the 45-year-old was from Edenvale, stating that it had nothing further to add to its press release.
ABF stated that the arrest was part of a joint operation by the border force and New South Wales Police Force (NSWPF).
