RAG and residents tackle Gillooly’s
Mark Morris of RAG along with other residents met at 8am and worked well into the afternoon cleaning up the once popular restaurant premises.
Residents Action Group (RAG) along with residents of Bedfordview launched an initiative Better Bedfordview on January 15 to clean up the suburb.
Chairperson of RAG Marina Constas said that RAG is the umbrella body under which Better Bedfordview will run and where funds will be collected.
“As residents of Bedfordview we are fed up with abysmal service delivery.
We are taking things up to a better standard so that we can be proud of our suburb,” said Constas.
She said the first clean up under the Better Bedfordview banner is at Gilloolys Farm, Mississippi Blues Restaurant.
General manager of RAG Mark Morris along with residents of the Better Bedfordview initiative began their clean-up campaign on January 17 at 8am.
Morris and the team worked well into the afternoon cleaning up in and around Mississippi Blues at Gillooly’s Farm.
He said that this area has not been cleaned up in years and they have begun the cleaning up process.
“This group is made up of enthusiastic individuals who have expressed an interest in arranging a clean up of Bedfordview,” said Humphreys.
Ward 20 Clr Jill Humphreys emphasised that the metro is doing little in bettering the beautiful town of Bedfordview.
She said that the group will look at priority areas, work in teams to remove illegal signage, posters and will also come together to see what available equipment will be needed.
“Our group is growing exponentially, we are now at 150,” said Humphreys.
