Edenvale SAPS will keep you safe this festive season

“Community members must enjoy the festive season and be assured that while they are enjoying themselves that Edenvale SAPS will continue fighting crime.”

With the festive season around the corner, Edenvale SAPS has shared crime prevention tips with residents within its precinct.

The Edenvale SAPS spokesperson, Capt Jean Olckers, said while enjoying the festive season community members need to remain vigilant.

He said crimes in Edenvale’s precinct, which see an increase, include shoplifting, theft of motor vehicles, theft out of motor vehicles, residential burglary, business robbery, assault and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

“During this time of year assaults occur between people who know each other and often involve alcohol,” said Olckers.

“Community members need to enjoy themselves responsibly and respect others.”
