Bez Valley women enjoy baby shower

JOBURG – The first 1 000 days of a child’s life is an opportunity to establish a foundation for children’s academic success, health and general wellbeing. However, it is also a period of vulnerability to stunting. We wanted to make sure that we are there for them every step of the way.

Flourish hosted a baby shower for 10 Bez Valley women at Bez Valley Clinic on September 14.

Flourist Babalwa Tuntulwana said they supported the women who attended sessions for three months.

“We are a support group for pregnant mothers who are less than 28 weeks pregnant around the country. During the sessions at the clinic we discuss various topics with them that will help them and their unborn babies. It has been a flourish journey where we supported and nurture each other through the challenges of pregnancy,” she said.

Tuntulwana said the Flourish journey is a journey of companionship, learning, belonging and acceptance where mothers have an opportunity to come together, nurture themselves and the baby that is growing inside.

“It’s an opportunity to love, play, cry, laugh and forge the future we want for ourselves and our children.
