Gary, a remarkable achiever

He has achieved more than his able-bodied peers earning his Springbok colours for Scouts as well as achieving both his NQF4 and NQF 5 diplomas in Real Estate.

Egoli Golden City Toastmasters Club member Gary Ruckstuhl has been described as a remarkable man.

He has achieved more than his able-bodied peers earning his Springbok colours for Scouts as well as achieving both his NQF4 and NQF 5 diplomas in Real Estate.

Additionally, he has also completed his degree in information science from Unisa.

His hobbies include puzzles, crosswords and Toastmasters.

Gary joined Egoli Golden City Toastmasters Club in De Wetshof in August 2008 after being encouraged by former Toastmasters veteran Marie Robeiro.

Since joining the club, Gary has hardly missed a meeting.

His high points at Toastmasters include his involvement in organising two national Toastmaster conventions as well as recently reaching the milestone of being a Toastmasters member for 10 years.

Former club presidents Sheryl Mulligan and Michael Coyle speak fondly of Gary.

Sheryl said when organising StarCon the 2015 Toastmasters National Conference she learned a lot about Gary.

“Here was a guy who didn’t say a lot because of his speech impediment, but boy when it came to writing emails, those emails came through thick and fast.”
