Edenvale goes head to head against Sunward Park

Most of the club's teams are in the top five of their respective leagues.

The u-9 players from Edenvale and Sunward Park football clubs recently competed against each other in a catch-up league game.

The game, which Edenvale lost 2-3, was played on July 28 at Edenvale’s home grounds.

Following their victory, Sunward Park is now the top team in the u-9 fifth division league.

Dalene Holder, chairperson of EFC, said despite the loss Edenvale is doing well this soccer season.

She said most of the club’s teams are in the top five of their respective leagues.

In the u-12 first division league, Edenvale is sitting in first and second position.

The club’s senior first team is second on the log and the senior’s first division team is third in their league.

“We hope to maintain our positions on the league and have some teams win the league and cup this season,” said Holder.

• Edenvale’s u-6 first division team beat Balfour Alex Football Club (2-1).

• Edenvale’s u-7 promotional team beat Old Benonians Football Club (3-2).

• Luso Africa Football Club’s u-8 fourth division team beat Edenvale (4-1).

• Edenvale’s u-10 promotional team beat Pro Athletico (8-5).

• Highlands Park Football Club’s u-11 second division team beat Edenvale (3-0).

• Edenvale’s u-12 first division second team beat warriors Edenvale (3-0).

• Edenvale’s second division team beat Balfour Alex Football Club (5-1).

• Bidvest Wits Football Club’s u-17 beat Edenvale (2-1).
