Edenvale learner spreads birthday cheer

“Kaiden told me he wanted to share the cake with children who don't often receive cake.”

Edenvale resident Kaiden Berman (9) recently gave back to the less fortunate when he donated some of his birthday cake to Pinocchio Educare Centre.

The King Edward VII Preparatory School learner celebrated his birthday on June 18 and wanted to do something meaningful with the leftover cake.

Kaiden’s father, Craig, said while on the way home from the birthday party he asked Kaiden what he wanted to do with the leftover cake.

“Kaiden told me he wanted to share the cake with children who don’t often receive cake,” said Berman.

After contacting Edenvale Child Welfare, Berman soon arranged to donate the cake.

Kaiden said he thought it would be a good idea to share the cake and something nice for the children at the educare centre

“The actions of Kaiden are a credit to his school and his nature,” said Berman

“We need more children like him in this world to brighten the lives of those less fortunate.”
