Exclusive: Bedfordview’s Khabonina talks about Isidingo and life in Bedfordview (gallery & video)

She loves Bedfordview and has been living in the area for almost 10 years.

Bedfordview resident Khabonina Qubeka (38) has always been an actor but believes you should not be held down by doing just one thing in your career.

Khabonina Qubeka gets her make-up done. If she could describe Isidingo to anybody she would say that it is a community on fire.

She started as a dancer before getting into acting.

“I always saw myself as an artist and a performer. Never just a dancer,” said Khabonina. Most people know her from Muvhango back in 2007, but she has been acting before that.

“I did, however, catch the acting bug as people say when I was part of theatre in high school,” said Khabonina.

Khabonina said she loves Bedfordview and has been living in the area for almost 10 years.

Khabonina Qubeka, a Bedfordview resident and Isidingo star. Most people know her from Muvhango back in 2007, but she has been acting before that. She loves working with Darlington Michaels who plays Georgie Zamdela on Isidingo because he is so much fun, yet so professional at the same time.

Khabonina Qubeka also has a show on BET called Fix My Love.

Khabonina Qubeka gets her hair and make-up done before playing Nina Zamdela on Isidingo. She loves her character, Nina who is a businesswoman and she pushes the envelope. She sees the writers as brilliant in this regard as they come up with scenes that blow her mind each and every time.
A behind the scenes look at the set of Isidingo. Khabonina is always prepared when she gets on set. “You need to read your lines as well as everybody else if you’re a true actor.”
Khabonina Qubeka plays Nina Zamdela on Isidingo. Khabonina never gets tired of acting. “With some of my other shows, we sometimes wrap at 1am. I can never get tired of doing what I love doing,” said Khabonina.
Khabonina Qubeka loves doing community projects with young girls and boys to inspire them.
