Should parents avoid posting their children’s photos online?

Children in uniform on social media, yay or nay?

The first day of school excitement has died down, and social media timelines are no longer flooded with pictures of little ones in school uniforms for the first time. We asked the community if they think parents should post photos of their children’s school and grade on social media, giving out details to the online world.

“No, people get your information and could kidnap your child. Parents need to be cautious, it’s not wise, inasmuch as you’re excited.”

“No, you give out information that a person can use to steal your child. I would not share a photo of my child online.”

“No, photos are for yourself and friends. It’s not safe or secure, it’s just too much info for a predator to use to their advantage.”

“I would. There needs to be an education drive teaching children how to take care of themselves, not to talk to strangers and so forth. Yes, it’s dangerous to post their pictures online, but we shouldn’t have to live in a world where you can’t show off your children.”
