Writers 2000 ready to host their first meeting for 2018

Writers 2000 kicks off 2018 with Sarah Key, an accomplished author of adult and children’s books.

Writers 2000 will kick off 2018 with Sarah Key, an accomplished author of adult and children’s books.

The meeting will take place on January 27 at Inyoni Club House, corner of Modderfontein and Wordsworth roads.

Sarah will be addressing the members on the mindful acts of reading and writing.

Her working life has followed many paths including English teacher, life and communications skills lecturer, HIV and AIDS activist and mentor to apprentice jockeys.

Sarah moved into adult education in which she holds a Master’s degree.

From 2006 to 2010 she travelled South Africa, leading a UNICEF sponsored programme aimed at reducing the ravages of HIV and AIDS.

Sarah’s debut novel, Tangled Weeds, was published in 2014 by Rebele Publishers (Detroit).

She is passionate about Southern Africa and its diverse people.

Sarah is married and lives with her husband, two daughters and two mixed breed dogs. She loves to cook, read and watch live performances.

Non-members are welcome. There’s a door fee of R20 per person and refreshments will be served.

Those attending are urged to arrive at 1.30pm for 2pm.
