The campaign is held every year from November 25 to December 10.

“The larger our group, the louder the message. The community has supported our previous campaigns and we would like them to support us during this important march,” said Danute.

Those who will be taking part are urged to arrive at 12.30pm for 1pm.

The walk will start at the Spar in Dowerglen and move to the church on Elm Street.

Youth Desk’s chairperson Megan Ricciardi said even though the campaign runs for 16 days, it doesn’t mean it ends there.

“The campaign is only for 16 days but the fight against violence against women and children is an everyday fight.

“This is something we are passionate about,” said Megan.

Youth Desk members will also be at the Festival of lights on November 25.
