Wooligans to help keep people warm

"On the scarves will be written notes which say 'we are not lost but if you are cold please take us',"

The Edenvale Wooligans recently met to continue their campaign to keep the community warm.

The Wooligans, who are part of the 67 Blankets for Mandela Day initiative, meet every Saturday at Karaglen.

Andrea Henderson, of the Wooligans, said at their June 10 meeting that numerous donations of wool were received from the community.

“Knitting is quite hip nowadays and we hope to attract more people,” said Henderson.

She said on July 13 the group will hang scarves around Edenvale.

“On the scarves will be written notes which say, ‘We are not lost but if you are cold please take us’,” said Henderson.

This will form part of the group’s 67 minutes for Mandela Day initiative.

Anyone who wishes to donate wool or assist with knitting can phone Henderson on 076 300 1356.
